Community Renewal Fund

The Community Renewal Fund (CRF) was announced in the March 2021 Budget. The CRF is a short-term fund, operating just for 2021/22 with express intention of enabling and supporting innovative new ideas and to pilot programmes and approaches to support local economic development which can inform the longer-term UK Shared Prosperity Fund (the Government’s replacement funding for the European Structural & Investment Funds). In particular, the Government wish to test and explore greater integration of types of interventions and greater flexibility between investment themes than under the EU structural funds programme.
