About the Event
We are delighted to be welcoming the brilliant Emma Rice to the Fringe this year to talk about her career, her cultural inspirations and how she approaches developing a peice of work for the stage.
Emma, is among the UK’s best-known directors. Her 30-year career has included leading Cornish theatre company Kneehigh and Shakespeare’s Globe, London, before leaving to start her own company. In 2019, she received the UK Theatre Award for Contribution to British Theatre, in 2022, she was named one of Sky Arts ‘50 most influential British artists of the last 50 years’, being named along the likes of David Bowie, Vivianne Westwood, Sir Steve McQueen & Harold Pinter. In 2025 she won the WhatsOnStage award for Best Director for The Buddha of Suburbia.
